Are you an engaging and effective fundraising/business development professional who is passionate about connecting people to good ideas? If so, you might be a perfect addition to our high-performing team.
We are the Public Affairs Council, a well-respected, non-partisan organization of nearly 700 companies and associations. As the leading international association for public affairs executives and managers, our members come to us to learn best practices, tap into expertise and expand their professional community.
As our business development manager, you will take the lead in expanding our membership through outreach and relationship building with executives at Fortune 500 companies and major trade associations. The good news is that as a non-political group that doesn’t just focus on one industry, we have a huge, global universe of potential members.
In this role, you will head up our recruitment efforts, including identifying, cultivating and tracking membership leads. As part of the membership team, you will also assist in designing strategies for engaging and retaining current members. This work requires creativity, assertiveness, enthusiasm, intelligence, a sales orientation, good relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in public affairs.
We want to hear from you if you have a successful track record in business development or fundraising, expertise in membership marketing strategies, well-developed writing and public-speaking skills and are known for delivering exceptional customer service. Bonus points if you have direct experience in public affairs or communications.
You will work with a membership coordinator who manages our database, handles invoicing and provides support for membership recruitment/retention activities. This position reports to the senior director of membership.
