Position reports to: International Academy of Compounding Pharmacist’s (IACP) Board of Directors
The International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) is an association representing pharmacists, technicians, students, and members of the compounding community who focus upon the specialty practice of pharmacy compounding. Compounding pharmacists work directly with prescribers including physicians, nurse practitioners and veterinarians to create customized medication solutions for patients and animals whose healthcare needs cannot be met by manufactured medications.
Works in concert with the Board to execute external Academy activities, including networking, presentations, interviews, and other speaking engagements
Provides leadership in all Academy operations and works in a partnership with the Board to ensure the Academy’s success
Assists the Board, all IACP Committees, and the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA) Coalition to fulfill their duties and obligations
Leads specific strategic directives undertaken by the Board and oversees turnaround on deadlines for projects for staff
Provides leadership in accordance to IACP by-laws and Governance Policies with integrity and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
Guides the development of member services to meet the current and future needs of the members
Guides annual and long-term planning processes
Expands IACP’s membership, operations, and programs
Initiates and develops policies for Board’s approval
Interprets and administers approved policies
Networks with key stakeholders (i.e. organizations, DQSA Coalition, Corporate Members, elected officials)
Assists the IACP Foundation (IACPF) outlined in any shared staff agreements
Dedicates time to supporting IACPF Initiatives, either direct support or via management of staff
Designs HR benefits package, interfaces with external HR firm
Accountable for finances, programs, and functions, including operating budget, and manages expenditures and purchases
Ensures preparation of routine reports on IACP’s performance and finances; assures financial records are audited in accordance with Governance Policies
Collaborates with the Board to ensure fiduciary responsibilities are met
Job Duties Pertaining to the IACP Board of Directors
Assists in developing the Board agenda and materials and circulates to all Board members pursuant to the timeframe stated within the Bylaws and Governance Policies
Takes the minutes during the Board meetings
Circulates the minutes and additional follow-up to the Board
Records Board terms, years served, absences, etc.
Assists in developing all Board training and education materials
Works daily to keep Board members engaged with IACP and staff
Understands and implements Roberts Rule of Order
Circulates conflicts of interest, confidentiality, anti-trust and all necessary materials to ensure compliance to all Board members and ensures new members receive a copy and sign for their copy which should be recorded
Helps plan the installment of the Board members
Assists other staff on communications with the IACP Board
Job Duties Pertaining to the IACP Committees
Attends communications, membership, Executive Committees meetings as directed by the Board
Works with all Committee Chairs to ensure the Board agenda reflects all Committee activities and designates where votes and/or discussion is needed
Assists the IACP Committee Chairs
Maintains up-to-date Committee database that includes all IACP member volunteers
Keeps the IACP website and IACP Members Only website up-to-date with all Committee information and Committee materials respectively
Job Duties Pertaining to Strategic Planning Efforts
Works with the Strategic Planning Committee to assist with all logistics of meetings and materials
Assists the Board in leading the Strategic Planning objectives and activities
Sends out calendar invites, takes minutes and circulates all needed materials at the directive of the Board
Reminds the Committee of deadlines and materials that is needed
Miscellaneous Job Duties
Assists the Foundation as instructed by the Board and outlined in any shared staff agreements.
Keeps the Board apprised of any work conducted on behalf of the IACPF
Maintains all staff tracking records for any work conducted for the IACPF
Excellent verbal and communication skills, including professional writing ability
Customer service focus and servant leadership mentality
People oriented, able to build rapport and maintain relationships with Academy members, industry partners and key stakeholders
Organized and self-motivated
Extensive association management experience
Certification or degree related to association management
Certified Association Executive credential
Telecommuting is allowed.
