Professional association located in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Program Manager. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) represents 25,000 members, has a staff of 30, and an annual budget of $8 million. NASP is located in downtown Bethesda, MD, three blocks from the Metro (Red Line). NASP represents school psychology and supports school psychologists to enhance the learning and mental health of all children and youth.
The Program Manager is primarily responsible for providing support to the PREPaRE School Safety and Crisis Response program, state leadership trainings, leadership development and related committee meetings. The manager will coordinate and support workshop and committee meeting logistics, record keeping, data management and other association initiatives as needed. The position reports to the Director of Communications and works under the general supervision of multiple directors.
PREPaRE Program Coordination: Serve as contact for receiving and processing PREPaRE workbook and handbook orders and inquiries; organize and process post-workshop materials; and track data entry work with an outside vendor. Process new trainer information, send email reminders and updates, maintain trainer section of the website and provide workshop logistics specific content to trainer newsletter. Other related responsibilities include providing technical assistance to sponsors and trainers; extracting database information with a high degree of accuracy for reports, records management and data entry as needed.
Onsite Trainings Support: Provide support for materials development and dissemination, registration, data entry, pre-meeting and onsite logistics for various events including state leadership trainings at the annual convention; PREPaRE workshops at the annual convention and summer conferences as needed.
Support Relevant Committee Meetings: Provide support for materials development and onsite logistics for various committee meetings throughout the year. Participate in conference calls, meetings and webinars as needed.
Program support (other): Assist with phone and email inquiries related to PREPaRE and other assigned projects; participate in general call rotation and office administrative support duties; other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or COO.
Internal: Communications, Professional Policy/Practice, Marketing, Professional Development, Meetings and Conventions, Finance and Publications staff. External: Volunteer leaders, PREPaRE Trainers and Sponsors and workshop participants.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Skills needed include project management of multiple projects and priorities, effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively, excellent organizational skills, ability to handle interruptions and keep work flow on track and the ability to problem solve. Skill working with technology; databases (iMIS or other AMS), broadcast e-mail software (InFormz), website content management systems, preferred. Applicant must be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor’s degree and related experience. The position requires an organized and flexible individual who can manage multiple projects and priorities with great attention to detail. Customer service orientation is a priority as well as the proven ability to work with volunteers and staff. Demonstrated tact, diplomacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Working knowledge of iMIS database, broadcast e-mail software (InFormz), website content management systems preferred. Applicant must be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Some travel required.
