As the marketing manager, you will report to the director of marketing and execute integrated marketing campaigns, write compelling copy for diverse audiences, and analyze data to drive success. This is a hands-on role, working with AAMI’s internal clients on content and goals for their products and services (membership, certification, standards, publications, annual conference, the AAMI Foundation, educational offerings, and other products), while also moving the ball forward each day on promotions, campaigns, and outreach.
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is a unique alliance of 7,000 members from around the world united by one critical mission: increasing the understanding and beneficial use of healthcare technology. We consistently develop new products specifically around new standards and stakeholder needs. AAMI members improve medical device safety through the development and use of AAMI standards, professional certification, education, summits, and other technical resources. Industry, healthcare facilities, government agencies, and others rely on AAMI to disseminate high-quality, objective information that helps to make technology used in the care and treatment of patients safer and more effective.
We will rely on your content and marketing expertise to sharpen our messaging and strengthen our marketing strategy to drive the acquisition of new members, improve the overall positioning of our portfolio of products and bolster revenue, and elevate the AAMI brand.
Responsibilities of the Marketing Manager
Develop, coordinate, and execute marketing strategies for AAMI products, the standards program, our annual conference, educational events (in-person courses and webinars), the AAMI Foundation, and membership engagement.
Serve as AAMI’s brand manager, ensuring consistency of message, championing of the brand internally, and brand alignment of all product and organization marketing efforts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to write crisp copy and develop clear and relevant messaging across all marketing channels.
Develop timelines and work plans to ensure marketing efforts support internal business unit goals/objectives stay on track and meet or exceed revenue targets.
Design and execute market research, leveraging available data to identify trends, determine customer satisfaction and needs, and continually evaluate marketing strategies to encourage innovation and measure effectiveness.
Lead and develop strategy for reporting, testing, analyzing, and forecasting for all marketing channels.
Coordinate, format, and send all marketing emails.
Maintain editorial upkeep of the online AAMI Store and serve as its primary point of contact.
Provide oversight to the maintenance and organization of AAMI’s mailing lists. Ensure accuracy of data and proper use of lists.
Qualifications of the Marketing Manager
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
Minimum four years’ experience managing marketing and advertising programs. Prior experience in nonprofit and/or healthcare field is a plus.
Strong writing and editing skills are essential, to include promotional copy, web and email content, and targeted messaging.
Experience and knowledge of Google Ads and Google Analytics.
Experience working with association management systems, such as iMIS, and the integrated email exchange, Informz, including a working knowledge of the advanced features associated with campaign management, segmentation, and list management.
Basic understanding of HTML; website management experience.
Proficiency using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.).
Experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of healthcare technology, or association experience is desirable.
