The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is hiring a Foundation Programs and Giving Manager, a new position within the society. The individual in this role will oversee Foundation programs and be responsible for corporate and individual giving.
Develops and implements corporate support and individual fundraising programs in support of AOFAS and Foundation strategic priorities and programming; achieves or surpasses revenue targets and goals.
Creates reports for staff and leadership to track philanthropy and corporate support. Works with accounting and IT to ensure data integrity and system efficiencies.
Serves as the staff liaison to the Humanitarian Services Committee. Administers the mission trips, coordinates committee meeting agendas and prepares committee minutes. Travels annually to the Vietnam trip in the early summer.
Works closely with Executive Director, Foundation and AOFAS volunteer leadership.
Participates in Foundation board of director meetings and calls.
Creates and implements a corporate partnership program. Identifies partnership program elements, coordinates marketing materials, and prepares partnership proposals to companies. Maintains company files including giving history and contact reports by company. Cultivates and solicits new partners; engages in regular communication with existing partners. Benchmarks program with other medical associations. Prepares donor recognition for meeting materials and website.
Manages corporate grant proposals. Identifies appropriate grant requests, prepares applications and tracks applications through funding. Ensures that funding follows AdvaMed and ACCME policies and prepares year-end reports as needed.
Schedules company visits with staff and leadership throughout the year. Organizes the corporate donor reception and awards recognition at the annual meeting.
Monitors and evaluates the corporate giving program from the society and industry perspective for ROI and suggest improvements.
Identifies new funding opportunities and grant prospects from manufacturers, private foundations and government.
Working with outside consultant, develops and implements a comprehensive philanthropy program to include annual giving, major gifts, special campaigns, Pillars of the Society, planned giving and other initiatives.
Serves as project manager to create collateral materials, prospect cultivation and stewardship, gift solicitation and tracking. Prepares donor recognition rolls for all publications and on website.
Manages donor recognition program and maintains giving history.
Reviews AMS and accounting reports for accuracy and prepares data analysis and dashboard reporting.
Works with AOFAS staff to identify new funding and support opportunities.
Collaborates with marketing staff on print materials, social media, website content and other communications.
Assists with development of annual budget and monitors monthly financial reports for revenue and expense.
Represents the Foundation and society at events and meetings.
Supports and manages other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required
At least five years’ fundraising and sponsorship experience with demonstrated success
Must be familiar with AdvaMed Code of Ethics
Must have experience preparing grants to medical companies
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently and interdependently as part of a team
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with AMS platforms
Must have polished, poised, professional demeanor
Must enjoy a small office environment
Ability to be flexible and to multi-task
Must be able to travel and lead early morning/evening conference calls
