Overseeing the planning, execution, completion, and quality of CHEST’s industry-facing and/or organization-wide enterprise projects, the Senior Project Manager will help the team to achieve CHEST’s organizational goals. In particular, the Senior Project Manager will manage custom client projects in collaboration with various organizational project representatives, as well as at times function as an expert technical resource pre-sale. Within the framework of CHEST expanding the services it offers to its constituents, the Senior Project Manager will take on the responsibility of both establishing and managing new workflows, methodologies, and procedures, and have close working relationships across the organization, primarily ensuring individual organizational representatives have complete project management support.
Define the scope and requirements of the project in collaboration with key stakeholders
Create a detailed work plan, which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to activities
Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
Execute the project according to the project plan
Set up files and communication plan to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
Work cross functionally across different departments to ensure quality control and understanding of project deliverables
Collaborate with the client as needed
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Communicate project needs with third parties/vendors
Delegate project tasks based on team members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Other duties as needed and assigned
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field
Three years working in a project management role
Excellent written and communication skill
Strong proficiency with project management tools such as SmartSheets, Gantt charts, JIRA, etc.
Familiarity with software and data analytics, and the ability to work closely with technical resources
Ability to carry out multiple tasks and direct multiple projects at once
Self motivated and able to ensure alignment with business goals
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
5+ years experience working in a project management role
