IREM Association Executive (“IAE”) Job Description
The IREM Association Executive (“IAE”) serves as the executive director of IREM Austin and reports directly to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. The IAE will represent and build brand awareness for the organization, promoting IREM Austin through association excellence as the premier real estate association in Austin and surrounding areas.

We have monthly luncheons and other fun events throughout the year with our primary message being the importance of education and ethics in property management.
Compensation & Position Details
Annual Contract Fee is negotiable.
The IAE is a 1099 position and a Performance Based position. Average yearly travel is estimated at 5 to 7 days per year. General expectations include the availability to attend meetings and respond to correspondence during standard business hours. A list of meetings that would require the attendance of the IAE are attached.
The IAE will provide support to the Association as follows:
Promotes and attends Chapter meetings, events, and luncheons, including but not limited to Board and Executive Committee Meetings, Leadership Orientation Meeting, Bowling Tournament, Trends, Chapter Socials, Annual Global Conference, and the Annual Regional Meeting
Coordinates, attends and provides oversight and direction at Annual Global Conference as well as the Annual Regional Meeting
Attends and participates in quarterly IAE conference calls and IREM Headquarters relevant webinars
Recommends annual CPM and ARM local educational course offerings after review of Texas’ class schedule to ensure no critical overlap between other chapters
Coordinates CPM and ARM local educational course offerings, providing marketing and on-site support as needed
Assists Chapter Officers and/or Committee Chairs in the coordination, facilitation, and execution of Chapter events
Provides committee management through goal setting, calendar management, and select meeting attendance. A list of meetings that require in-person attendance is attached.
Maintains Chapter membership involvement and growth through member communication and mentorship
Maintains and distributes Chapter event and critical dates calendars
Serves as the information business office for all Chapter correspondence and information
Maintains secured storage of Chapter records, member database, documents, collaterals, information and electronic records/files on site at Chapter office
Execute and ensure adherence to the policies, rules and regulations as set forth in the IREM Headquarters Rules and Regulations, the Association’s Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
Acts as primary fiduciary for all Chapter financial records, accounts, budgets, etc., including record keeping, preparation of annual budget, invoicing and A/R, audit and tax return filing support and reporting functions
Performs market research, assists Chapter leaders in fundraising sales, provides public relations support and marketing plan development/implementation. Fundraising efforts include:
First round of notifications to Industry Partners for annual dues and other sponsorship opportunities
Guidance to Chapter leadership for sponsorship limitations/restrictions
Updates to Chapter leadership on fundraising progress
Assists Social Media Committee with approval of postings when Chapter Leadership is unavailable and provides guidance on any Board restrictions regarding social media
Prior experience in association management required. Has obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree or acquired industry experience aligned with skills required to be effective in all outlined job functions. CAE designation or demonstrated progress toward designation preferred. The ideal candidate:
Is a hands-on motivational leader comfortable working in multiple external roles and with a variety of volunteer business leaders
Is proficient in and enjoys event planning and coordination
Be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
Must be committed to organizational excellence and quality internal customer service
Maintains a high standard of diplomacy/professionalism in stressful situations
Excels in motivating and mobilizing volunteers and mentoring leaders in order to promote membership growth and retention
Has demonstrated marketing skills and fundraising experience
Demonstrated strong financial skills
Is comfortable in common software programs and capable of assessing and integrating technology to manage organizational practices, procedures and assets
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Association Executive
A valid driver’s license
