We’re looking for a super smart Technical Writer, for one of our highly rated association newsletters. This awesome writer would research, curate news content, edit articles, and proofread each issue – and we hope it’s you! Since we are a technical association, this contract may include additional opportunities to write white papers, develop feature articles and work with our amazing marketing team on technical writing projects for the association.
We will trust you, as an experienced writer/journalist, to confirm news sources, determine relevancy, and provide accurate documentation. As with most quality publications, we will expect you to follow editorial specifications and adhere to quality standards in every area of the newsletter. This includes auditing the quality of each issue from graphics to format to writing style. We want someone who can create compelling headlines, infuse their own technical voice into the newsletter and create a great experience for our readers (because they’re pretty awesome too).

We’re only looking for awesome writers who love technical content: If you like writing, but technical topics make you yawn, this is not the contract for you.
Research. Research. Did we mention you’ll be doing research? Unlike some publications, we don’t use a news aggregator to identify content. Just good old research and someone with a great eye for identifying interesting stories for our audience.
You can’t have too much of a good thing which is why our newsletter goes out weekly. Please be sure you have a 10-15 hours per week to invest in this growing publication.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and curate 15-20 technical news stories and articles each week for
Research and edit articles, write original content, and maintain the technical integrity of the newsletter.
Proactively collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure document accuracy.
Work with newsletter stakeholders to maintain regular, timely, and consistent communication on ideas, issues, and risks to deadlines.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, White Papers, press releases, and experience with enewsletter and/or blog writing is desired but not required
Experience with documenting and editing highly technical articles and whitepapers
