The Communications & Branding Strategist will work with the Communications Manager under the guidance of the Chief Marketing Officer to develop, oversee and implement the Academy’s branded content (both internal and external) and messaging across all channels to support the organization’s strategic plan, business and communication goals.
Organize the development and execution of communication plans (goals, campaigns, tactics, measurement, etc.), and assist in measurement and reporting of performance of efforts and campaigns.
Handle all aspects the organization’s branding efforts including graphic and branding standards, writing style guide, education and enforcement of standards and rebranding initiatives. Ensure compliance with internal stakeholders, and work closely with all functional areas to ensure consistency with brand-related initiatives across the organization. Assist in providing brand management guidance and tools to internal and external stakeholders; manage and organize brand assets.
Work with the marketing and communications team to manage the creation, development and implementation of key communications projects including the AAOS annual report, strategic plan messaging, member, staff and leadership communications, etc. Ensure that any outside authorized vendors adhere to brand and identity guidelines.
Work with internal marketing and communications team to consistently improve communications channels, ensuring usage of a diverse channel mix that reaches target audiences and identify opportunities for growth.
Regularly communicate progress and updates to CMO, Communications Manager and other key stakeholders within the Academy.
Oversee the development and implementation of key communications projects related to building awareness and membership growth for the Academy’s international business.
2 – 3 weeks per year
4 - 6 years or more of corporate communications experience, preferably with an association and/or
healthcare related business
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and formal presentation communication skills
Excellent computer skills, with high proficiency in MS Office and Adobe applications
High level of creativity and independent decision-making capability
Superior project management, time management skills and strong ability to effectively multi-task
Self-motivated with a positive, collaborative and professional approach
Degree in marketing communications or related field
Association and/or medical association experience
Experience with membership driven organizations
