We are seeking an energetic and motivated professional to serve as the Executive Director of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York, Inc. (PSSNY) (501(c)(6). PSSNY is a strong organization representing pharmacist’s interest and professional development. The Board of Directors and other volunteer leadership are passionate, committed and motivated. We are seeking a dynamic individual with advanced skills in leadership, governance and professional management of volunteers and staff. PSSNY is in a growth period allowing for professional growth and opportunity for the right person.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of five years of job experience in an association management position, or related field. Demonstrated success in innovative organizational management and leadership development;
Proven ability to raise funds from diverse sources to support professional programs and services;
Demonstrated versatility and creativity in adapting an organizational vision to changing realities and galvanizing people to act;
Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills and an understanding of association management; Strong public speaking required.
Strong administrative, personnel, and organizational management are required;
Proficiency in administration, strategic planning, and fiscal management.
Experience in working with organizations the size of PSSNY with a large volunteer base and small staff including remote employees.
Demonstrated ability to respect, support, encourage and promote the diversity of ideas, values, assumptions, aspirations, approaches and ideologies inherent in the profession of pharmacy.
An open and mature communication style;
A keen ability to listen and encourage people to voice multiple perspectives;
Strong synthesizing, analyzing, and problem-solving abilities;
A track record of promoting and enacting inclusiveness, respect, equity and sensitivity with individuals and organizations of multiple cultures and backgrounds; and
Strong ethical standards.
Must be able to travel to 3-5 national meetings annually, in-state travel as needed to maintain relationships with regional affiliates, ethnic affiliates and colleges of pharmacy across the state
Must have flexibility to work evening and weekends as required;
CAE an asset, but not required;
Knowledge of pharmacy or other health care professions required.
Display values that are compatible with PSSNY vision, values and direction;
At a minimum, basic knowledge of social media, communication tools and office operation systems (i.e. Microsoft Office products, AV equipment, etc.); and
Broad based connections and experiences with business, industry, government, and academia in the development and delivery of programs and services.
