Who You Are We are looking for a motivated Chief Credentialing Operations Officer who is ready to jump in and take the lead on multiple initiatives. In this role, you will manage several critical employees including Call Center Manager, Document Review and Recertification Manager and Relationships Manager.
To succeed in this role, you will have strong communication and analytical skills, excellent customer service skill and the ability to think strategically.
Who We Are We are two related nonprofit organizations with shared staff (that is, many staff working for both organizations, but with just one supervisor) located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Credentialing Operations (35%)
• Investigate, analyze, synthesize and ensure that issues, including those reported by the test vendor, are appropriately resolved by staff and are fully documented in stakeholder records • Ensure various functional areas within the department are operating efficiently and provide a high-quality stakeholder experience • Ensure the distribution of exam/certification/recertification contains accurate and complete information, is issued at the proper time and is sent at the correct individuals
B. Collaborative Relationships (15%) • In consultation with the Executive Director, identify metrics and then monitor them related to our collaborative certificate program and collaborative certification programs, reporting to the Executive Director at least monthly • Ensure accuracy and timely distribution of reports of DANB national exams and state certificate programs to state dental boards and state regulatory bodies
C. Operations and Strategies (15%) • Assist staff leaders in making recommendations to the DANB and DALE Foundation Boards regarding future direction (visioning) and supporting tactical initiatives (implementation) • Develop the means by which functional area goals and objectives will be measured and assessed to ensure the goals and objectives are being met and make the necessary adjustments to help ensure they are being met. • Implement operational best practices through review and revision of policies and procedures
E. Supervisory (20%) • Monitor activities of all functional areas within the Credentialing Operations department • Supervise, coordinate and assign activities of staff in the three divisions of the Credentialing Operations department • Evaluate staff performance to recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer, performance improvement action plan or dismissal
F. Budgeting and Recordkeeping (2%) • Develop and manage annual operations budget • Evaluate the financial impact of activities and projects (e.g., ROI, break-even points) • Evaluate trends in revenue and expenses related to the department
G. Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, Committees, Policy Activities (13%) • Maintain and update the DANB Candidate and Certificant Services Policies manuals (active and archive) • Review and provide input to any other board reports related to the responsibilities of this position before they are posted for Board review • Attend DANB and DALE Foundation Board and those Committee meetings for which this position is staff liaison
The ideal candidate must have: • Bachelor’s degree (in Business or related field preferred) • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role in customer service and/or operations • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience • Industry credential preferred (e.g., CAE, PMP)
Required to sit for long periods of time; may need to walk or stand in the course of work as well as light to medium levels of lifting of supplies or equipment
Work performed in an office environment and occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel to approximately two meetings per year (e.g., Institute for Credentialing Excellence annual conference, Winter DANB and DALE Foundation annual Board meetings)
