The American Society for Microbiology (ASM), headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking an Education Specialist. Based in Washington, DC, ASM is part of one of science’s most exciting fields. ASM is looking for a bright, enthusiastic, energetic individual who is looking for a great opportunity in program and curriculum development. The incumbent would be the lead person for developing content for ASM’s webinars and ASMCUE program. Responsibilities include (i) identifying topics, speakers, learning goals and content, (ii) working with subject experts to develop and deliver curriculum (iii) training, supporting and communicating with presenters and participants, (iv) working with learning management systems team and platforms to deliver webinars and (v) working with strategic partners and stakeholders to sponsor programs.

• Masters degree in the biological or microbial sciences required. (Doctoral degree preferred) • 3-5 years in curriculum design, program development and project management • Scientific expertise and proven track record in curriculum design and training • Highly proficient with technologies and platforms that support online education and webinars • Excellent communicator, critical thinker and writer. • Highly organized. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, follow-through, and meet deadlines. • Proficient in MS Office; advanced knowledge in Excel • Familiarity with social media channels and user of digital platforms • Experience working with membership organization, a plus • Travel (10%) and some weekend work required
