The Vice President of Member Strategy & Engagement is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of AOTA’s initiatives to recruit and retain members, continually assess and enhance value for members/prospective members, and engage members in activities across the association. Success relies on the ability to view members and potential members from different perspectives, identify and anticipate member needs and how this drives perceived value of membership and the most effective ways to involve members in ways that respects their personal and professional commitment.
As the Vice President of Member Strategy & Engagement at AOTA, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of membership services, membership recruitment, membership retention, and membership database integrity/reporting. You will provide strategic direction, leadership, and management of these areas to meet organizational goals.
The Responsibilities of this Position:
Develop and implement ongoing mechanisms for listening to and assessing the changing needs of members/customers and communicating this with staff throughout the organization.
Translating member needs into opportunities for expanding member value and market share.
Develop and enhance member engagement opportunities through communities of practice, special interest groups, and outreach with state and other groups.
Guide staff throughout the organization in more effectively supporting member engagement and for identifying opportunities for enhancing member value.
Develop and implement innovative and effective member/customer service strategies.
Guide member data collection efforts to assure access to information to guide strategic and operational decisions
Advise with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations to enhance AOTA programming and build capacity.
Qualifications for this Position:
Demonstrated success leading member strategy and engagement with a record of growing membership/market share.
Successful experience in developing and supporting components (special interest groups, communities of practice, affiliates, etc.) that effectively engage members.
Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize work, problem solve and deliver results.
Highly analytical and critical thinker with demonstrated success using data to drive decisions.
Demonstrated abilities to develop and coach staff and volunteers.
Master’s degree in related field.
Seasoned executive leader with ten or more years of related work experience in the strategic and operational leadership of membership operations, related field and/or Association Management with a track record of success in delivering business solutions for organizations with a diverse customer base.
