Under the direction of the Chief Business Officer, the Director of Information Technology will be responsible for the administrative oversight of the Information Technology department. Responsibilities include budgetary responsibility, human resource management, and overall responsibility for the computing and digital infrastructure of the association.
As a key member of the management team, the Director of Information Technology will make key contributions to the association’s digital strategies and proactively advise the senior management team on the emerging technologies and digital trends that are most relevant to the association’s goals and evolving needs.
The Director of Information Technology will assume all other duties as assigned that contribute to the mission, vision, and values of the AARC.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree. Related degrees may include, but not limited to the following:
Management Information Systems (MIS)
Computer Information Systems (CIS)
IT Management and Project Management
An advanced degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering and/or business (MBA) is preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive experience managing functions and teams dealing with IT, work flow and systems preferred
At least 3 years serving in a management or administrative position preferred
Experience working in the association/non-profit space preferred
Able to determine technology strategies to achieve business goals and implement those strategies by setting appropriate goals for team.
Proven leadership ability and ability to set and manage priorities.
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day management.
Ability to develop and manage a budget and effectively manage expense allocations.
Thorough understanding of cybersecurity risks and mitigation options.
Excellent understanding of project management principles and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Knowledge of PII security policies and similar healthcare industry related policies and compliance requirements preferred.
Thorough understanding of computer systems characteristics, features and integration capabilities, experience with telephony and voice and data communication preferred.
Experience with non-profit, health care, call center or insurance sector preferred.
Team player with effective oral, written and listening skills.
The Director of Information Technology is preferred to possess specialized certifications in their field of expertise. One or more of the following certifications are preferred, but not limited to or required for the position.
Certified IT Architect Foundation (CITA-F) preferred
Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) preferred
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred
