Provides staff support and management for North American Spine Society’s Health Policy efforts. Acts as sole liaison for the Coverage Committee and works with department director to liaise with other committees as needed. Assists supervisors in the NASS Health Policy Division in monitoring, educating, and advocating on health care issues. This includes insurance coverage trends, physician reimbursement levels, regulatory initiatives and any other issues important to NASS members. Organizes and manages committee rosters, member database, committee/council/division meeting schedules and agendas, and provides comprehensive staff support to the committee and department director.
Position Requirements & Skills
This is an office-based position.
Highly developed oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills required.
Self-starter with a great work ethic, responsible for planning one’s own work processes and schedule.
Superior organizational, critical-thinking, analytical and creative problem solving skills are a must.
Must be able to identify problems, research alternatives, consult with peers, and implement solutions.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) required; experience with Constant Contact and CRM would be a plus.
Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to respond to NASS members, Board members, committee members, internal staff and others in a professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly manner.
Good diction, grammar, and vocabulary, in both verbal and written usage with the ability to organize, structure, and communicate information and ideas clearly.
Strong sense of commitment to the goals of the unit and has the ability to create and adapt plans as needed.
Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping and simultaneous deadlines efficiently and effectively.
Must have ability to work in teams in collaborative and helpful manner both within and across departments in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Maintains high professional standards of integrity, ethics, and commitment to the goals of NASS.
Bachelor’s degree in health policy, health care administration, or related field required
Medical society/association management experience desired
2-4 years of health policy or related experience required
