ASME is a world-renowned, member-based professional organization focused on serving the technical, educational, and other programmatic needs of the engineering and technology communities on a worldwide basis. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Coordinator, Segment Operations position with our Technical Events and Content (TEC) team in our Houston, TX office.
The TEC Sector of ASME consists of our 36 Technical Divisions organized under five Segment Leadership Teams overseen by the volunteer-led TEC Council. The conferences, events, courses and other activities of our Divisions and Segments provide our membership with the networking, continuing education, and professional development necessary for advancement in their careers.
The Coordinator, Segment Operations will support the operational activities of the ASME Segments. A successful candidate will be extremely organized and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. General responsibilities include segment and division operations support, coordination of Segment Leadership Team and Division Executive Committee meetings, meeting minutes, volunteer expense reports, and oversight of the pertinent documents and operation guides.
The position will report to the Director, Segment Operations. This position will also work directly with segment operation managers.
Ideal candidate must have an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of three years general office experience. In addition, candidate must possess the following:
Experience managing multiple projects
Flexible and adaptive to change
Strong organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
Experience in interacting with volunteers and staff
Strong communication skills, verbal and written in order to effectively communicate internally and with the members and volunteers
Excellent computer skills, advanced knowledge of MS Office software preferred
Association or non-profit experience a plus
