The Member Services Manager is primarily responsible for the management of membership services, benefits and policies. Supervises member services and recruitment staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee member database management efforts and integrity control; primary contact for Member Directory efforts with IT.
In conjunction with the Director of Marketing, manage a comprehensive marketing program for member recruitment and retention, inclusive of direct mail campaigns; website content and development.
Develop a project plan, including short-term recruitment goals, to manage outcomes based on strategic initiatives set by the CNS Executive Committee. Oversee membership application processing and ballot development in support of these initiatives.
Oversee renewal dues invoicing, mailing and tracking.
Identify untapped member markets, develop telephone recruitment strategy, and execute recruitment campaigns in conjunction with the Director of Marketing.
Analyze recruitment and retention campaign results and pursue changing data and industry trends to recommend and implement new recruitment programs.
Routinely benchmark industry best practices and recommend appropriate value-added service opportunities.
Develop and nurture alliances with allied organizations and academic institutions, based on strategic initiatives identified by the CNS Executive Committee, to increase recruitment efforts and enhance member service.
Manage all advanced onsite efforts for the CNS Member Resource Center during the CNS Annual Meeting.
Manage the CNS’ representation at affiliate meetings inclusive of design of booth graphics, and selection of booth materials and personnel.
Manage annual budgetary efforts related to membership dues, recruitment, retention and administration.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience, preferably in a medical/physician association.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to develop a cohesive team and utilize the diverse abilities of staff.
Strong computer skills required, including expertise with Microsoft suite of software: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proficient in use of internet.
Experience with database management is required.
Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with volunteer leaders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment and tact.
Excellent writing, grammatical, and proofreading skills required.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills required.
Experience in budgeting, managing vendors, and writing program copy.
