We are looking for someone to join our team as a Learning Manager. ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership is looking for a bright, energetic, creative association management professional with a passion for stewarding the development and delivery of learning programs to join its growing learning team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience using online, face-to-face, and blended approaches to training and development. Responsibilities include managing, as assigned, the development and delivery of professional education content for major conferences; classroom-based training symposia, seminars, workshops, forums and online courses/initiatives. Manager will attend educational events and planning meetings to oversee production and delivery of products and services. The position requires knowledge and understanding of contemporary adult education principles; experience with learning content management systems and educational technology a plus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to project management, product design & delivery, curricular & instructional design.
Conducts ongoing environmental scanning, curates content and develops training, educational and informational content within assigned association management content areas and priorities.
Identifies appropriate delivery methods.
Identifies and leverages cross departmental channels for collaboration.
Recruits and manages subject matter experts, content leaders and faculty for learning programs.
Serves as staff liaison to education and program development committees
Designs trainer and student materials.
Develops and oversees project budgets and revenue sources.
Manages learning initiatives as assigned, ensuring clear goals, meaningful metrics and positive net profit necessary to support operating costs.
Training & Development: Knowledge of contemporary practices in adult learning theory and educational curriculum development.
Project Management: Must be proactive, highly motivated and collaborative. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for details. Exceptional organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Strong problem solving, customer service and analytical skills
Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of social media and other business and educational technology applications that support member learning and engagement. Knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools a plus.
Volunteer Management: Effectively manage planning/advisory committees, subject matter experts/content leaders, consultants and vendors to ensure effective working relationships and outcomes.
Education and Experience
BA/BS or higher in education, organizational psychology, business, human resources or a related field directly applicable to this role.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in education development and delivery.
Association/not-for-profit experience a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Communication: Excellent writing, presentation and public speaking skills.
Collaboration: Must collaborate regularly and effectively, working with other teams such as meetings, marketing, editorial, web and research.
Time Management: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, requires little supervision; adept at working as and with remote workforce.
Financial: Develop and manage project budgets. Demonstrate sound fiduciary responsibility and ability to manage effectively within available resource allocations; interpret financial data and recommend contingency plans as needed.
