Major Duties and Responsibilities
Outline the vision, develop a strategic and tactical plan to achieve the desired 3-year and annual revenue and contribution margin targets in collaboration with AHIMA’s senior management team.
Set the sales strategy, revenue targets, budget, commissions and key metrics for assigned business line. (e.g., Domestic and international AHIMA education events, content marketing, licensing and corporate product sales).
Collaborates regularly with leaders within AHIMA such as the AHIMA International team and the head of marketing to optimize business line visibility, awareness and messaging to ensure revenue targets are realized.
Lead the design and value proposition of global and domestic sponsorships and partnership programs.
Assign and execute comprehensive account management plans for each revenue-generating staff member that lays the groundwork for long-term relationships.
Manage the revenue generating team selling corporate product sales and integrated packages (live events, digital and traditional media and education events).
Strategize with staff on all opportunities to ensure solutions are being effectively managed; expansion opportunities identified and accurately forecasted. Accelerate the decision-making process that will grow revenue and assists in contract negotiation.
Establishes and maintains contacts within client and prospect organizations; interfaces and gains their trust.Identify and confirm the goals and challenges these client organizations face; construct and present our value propositions in the form of compelling business cases.
Collaborates regularly with AHIMA Content and product management, HIM SMEs, Marketing, Professional Development/Education and Finance to optimize business line visibility, awareness, and messaging as well as other AHIMA leaders to inform and communicate among all stakeholders.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Ability to create a multi-year sales plan that connects with larger AHIMA strategic and operational plans.
Ability to develop and drive new and fresh revenue opportunities.
Demonstrates the ability to successfully mentor and manage sales staff.
Ability to collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop new opportunities for the business, ideating new formats and other B2B offerings and provide input into marketing of those opportunities.
Executive presence and experience successfully representing an organization to the highest-level partners, including C-suite leaders of national firms, Board members, etc.
Ability to provide timely and accurate forecasts and financial information used to support AHIMA.
Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer or association relationship systems (Aptify, Personify, Salesforce or equivalent
Ability to work independently with limited administrative support.
Bachelor’s degree is required.Master’s degree is a plus.
10 to 15 years of business development, sponsorship and account management experience in a client/customer facing role in the public or private sector, including at least 5 years in a revenue-generating leadership role.International and association experience are very helpful.
Experience growing and leading B2B revenue strategies through media, education events, information licensing, corporate member programs and other custom content opportunities.
Track record of building long-term partnership with corporations, delivering over $15 million annually.
Advanced knowledge and experience of all forms of corporate relationships, including memberships, sponsorships, integrated media and content packages and licensing.
