The AMS invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Membership Coordinator, located in our Providence, RI headquarters. This position will conduct the planning, scheduling and implementation of membership promotion, retention, and engagement efforts for the society, using a variety of media including print, social media, web content and email. RESPONSIBILITIES: Particular duties, tasks and responsibilities of this position include: - In collaboration with the director, devise and implement strategies to improve the membership experience for various categories of members, including students
- Develop, draft, and edit creative copy and design concepts for web and print media, while maintaining a strong and consistent brand presence
- Oversee a growing graduate student chapter program, process funding requests, write reports, curate content for monthly electronic newsletter, and maintain an ongoing relationship with members throughout the academic year
- Plan for and travel to meetings and conferences to promote membership products and services to generate interest and sales
- Research and purchase innovative promotional items/giveaways for meetings and other requests with the approval of the director
- Create content for all social media platforms, engage in dialogue, and monitor inquiries regarding membership
