The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of the IT infrastructure for the association, including overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals and directing the effective delivery of networks, development, digital properties, and disaster recovery systems and processes. Manages critical and complex projects from a strategic technical and practical hands on implementation perspective. Acts as a key technical advisor to project teams, providing research and novel approaches through ongoing interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Identify, recommend, and promote new technology solutions and initiatives. Drives organization-wide adoption and usage.
Designs and optimizes technical processes, including standards, practices, and policies that address risk management, security and governance.
Problem solves and provides an effective and responsive customer service model to support internal and external customer needs.
Ensure smooth operation for all digital tools and applications (e.g. website, intranets, blogs, and social media). Direct and support implementation of software and hardware upgrades.
Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning.
Lead procurement, installation and management of IT and digital services across all internal and external operations.
Oversee partnership with Managed Service Provider (MSP). Collaborates with MSP to identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety. Manage help desk system, in collaboration with MSP.
Analyze workflows and lead internal staff and external stakeholders. Delegate goals to maintain performance standards.
Proven work experience as a Director, IT, including four years in a management or leadership role in an IT environment.
Experience provided IT solutions in an association environment.
Microsoft - Sites, SharePoint, and Teams. Microsoft certification, highly desirable.
Association Management Solutions desired. Experience with Personify, preferred.
Financial systems integrations.
Experience cultivating effective networks of customers and internal and external stakeholders (e.g. supplies, the technical community, consultants, etc.).
Proven track record with successful systems integrations.
Understanding of digital channels. Familiarity with Google Analytics.
Hands on experience with SEO/SEM and CRM software.
Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience prioritizing projects within an IT portfolio.
This position requires sitting, standing, and walking.
Requires lifting materials of approximately 50 - 100 lbs.
Flexibility for work assignments during non-standard business hours.
Ability to be on call, as necessary, to ensure business continuity.
Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, as needed.
Travel to association and stakeholder meetings. Yearly travel to AABB Annual Meeting, required.
