The American Academy of Audiology is looking for a highly motivated, organized communications professional with a passion for digital communications and content development.
Under supervision of the Director of Digital Strategy, the Web Content Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the association’s website audiology.org, and providing support and assistance with content management on partner websites, e.g. the Academy’s student website saa.audiology.org.
The Web Content Manager proactively collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand their website needs and provide solutions. The Web Content Manager works closely with the Marketing Manager to coordinate distribution of content across the Academy’s digital channels (web, social, and blast email).

Content Management (70%)
Create, update, and manage content on the Academy’s websites through the appropriate CMS.
Publish news items, articles, newsletters, and other content on a regular basis.
Create and maintain tagging and taxonomy of the articles.
Maintain the appropriate “look-and-feel” through the websites.
Contribute ideas for web enhancements that align with the Academy’s strategic goals.
Collaborate with internal staff, vendors, developers, designers, and content owners.
Execute, and help refine, the Academy’s digital strategy (as defined by the Director of Digital Strategy).
Train and support staff members who have been granted web editing access.
Manage web update requests from all Academy departments.
Manage deadlines for larger content update projects.
Assist Director, Digital Strategy & Operations with web-related projects.
Maintain web content management and training documentation.
Analytics and SEO(10%)
Provide regular analytics reports to key stakeholders (Google Analytics).
Follow SEO and metadata best practices.
Other duties as assigned (5%)

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related subject.
3+ years of professional communications experience.
Experience with CMS, e.g. Drupal and WordPress.
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO best practices.
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, or visual design program.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Willingness to travel up to 10% time in order to support business needs.
Repetitive physical activity such as data entry and repetitive mental activity such as checking entries in a report, etc.
Must be able to sit comfortably at a computer desk for long periods of time.
Must be able to work on a computer up to 8 hours a day.
