We are looking for an individual, who has worked closely with volunteer committees and boards, to help support our growing special interest Coalitions group. You must have a proactive approach to getting things done, be customer centric and able to manage multiple deadlines. This position is for individuals looking to develop their career in association management.
Coalitions, a growing program area within the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), are dues-based groupings of member firms with similar interests including structural, mechanical/electrical engineering, surveying work, site/civil and land development, geo-technical engineering and small business interests. This position, reporting to the Coalitions Director, will assist in maintaining ongoing operations including, but not limited to handling membership inquiries, publication administration and distribution, and communication via social media. Position will maintain database of current coalition members plus oversee award programs and assist with meeting logistics for yearly coalition meetings, plus events at two national conferences. Some travel will be required.
This person will be part of the Business Resources and Education Department team within ACEC.
To perform successfully in this role, our ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Business Administration / Marketing/ Communications/ English or related field; and at least 2 years’ experience working in either a professional membership organization or trade association, in a membership or component relations capacity.
Candidates should demonstrate a track record of excellent customer relations support using a variety of communication mediums and platforms; have strong coordination skills involving association/nonprofit volunteers or others in leadership and high level staff roles (internally & externally); excellent writing, editing skills; database management proficiency and skill; and a capacity to develop a working knowledge of association products and services.
Experience with a CRM database (netForum preferred) including running queries.
Experience with marketing programs (Adestra preferred) for crafting messages for program areas.
Experience with web content editing
Well-versed with Microsoft Office products (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Salary will be based on experience. ACEC offers a comprehensive benefit package and a 37.5-hour work week with a downtown Washington, DC location near two metro lines.
