Entrepreneurial, service-oriented membership professional needed to develop strategies for delivering high-value benefits to the Alliance’s large membership base, made up of individuals, institutions and industry partners. Membership dues are the largest single source of revenue for the organization and the Director facilitates strategies to achieve or exceed the Alliance’s membership recruitment, retention and engagement goals; ensuring an outstanding member experience.
Key duties include: representing the Alliance to key and potential membership groups; implementing strategies to promote the value of membership; prospecting membership acquisition and renewal; online and on-site registration for all Alliance events and programs; customer service; and the collection, protection, and strategic leveraging of data about members and customers.
Skills and qualifications:
7 years nonprofit membership/marketing/development experience, preferably with an association; developing & implementing membership marketing & retention plans; building relationships to engage target audiences; maintaining data integrity (we use Aptify) & performing data analysis and building relationships to recommend new practices and improvements
Exceptional leadership skills; ability to provide vision and direction for AAM’s membership programs; motivate, mentor and manage 2 direct reports & work collegially and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Commitment to delivering exemplary customer service & contributing to a workplace that values diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion
Ability to travel approximately 10% of time to membership visits, the Annual Meeting and other meetings as needed
