This position manages many of RAPS’ online and in-person education initiatives. This position largely focuses on RAPS’ one and two-day workshops (online and in-person), as well as, the organization’s executive development and leadership programs. The individual in this position works with volunteer subject matter experts and expert groups to facilitate curriculum development. This position requires a high level of engagement with the membership and has significant interaction with participants and speakers.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education Program Development
Communicates clearly with stakeholders by providing project timing, updates and task requirements
Manages speaker expectations by providing input on content design, course goals, course objectives and intended outcomes.
Assists subject matter experts with curriculum/instructional design and best practices.
Organizes and facilitates small group volunteer meetings
Performs setup for virtual events and manage speaker dry runs and setup requirements.
Creates events in association management system (AMS)
Performs speaker management tasks, including making travel arrangements and processing reimbursement
Review printed and Web material for accuracy
Manages post-conference communication with attendees, including disseminating presentation materials
Manage meeting requirements and potential options such as locations, food and beverage, housing needs, audiovisual, room set ups, and other conference specifications
Travels and works onsite for events. When onsite, coordinates with presenters, venue and vendors on event-related items
Creates and ships onsite meeting materials, such as badges and participant lists
Manage contracts with facilities, suppliers, and other vendors based on needs identified by staff
Liaises with hotel/facility, sales, convention services, catering personnel, registration coordinator, and others
4 – 6 years’ experience in planning and execution of training and/or education-related programs, preferably at a membership-based association
Strong background in Training/Educational Design, Adult Learning Theories (ADDIE), knowledge transfer and effectiveness
Background in online education design and best practices
Strong strategic thinking skills
Strong collaborative skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent communications (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills are required.
Strong background in volunteer management, project management, and event planning is required.
Project Management experience
Experience in negotiating event-related contracts
