The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) is seeking an Associate Director of Communications to serve as managing editor of APIC’s quarterly member magazine, Prevention Strategist, and to assist the senior leadership team in implementing APIC’s Content Strategy.
In this role, you will work with the volunteer editorial panel to develop themes and solicit articles from volunteer authors; edit, copy edit, and proof content; obtain photos and necessary permissions; and work with the publishing company to design and produce the Prevention Strategist magazine.
The Associate Director also works with the team to review content inventory, develop taxonomy and personas, and build content workflow for the organization. In collaboration with the team, this position works to ensure that preferred content formats and distribution channels are identified and KPI reporting is monitored.
Qualified candidates will offer a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of experience in publications and communications at a volunteer membership, healthcare association that includes supervisory experience. APIC is seeking individuals with experience in association magazine publishing, developing and implementing content strategy at an association, and managing volunteer and vendor relationships.
