We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated professional who can meet the following expectations of the position.
Manage all direct communications with the membership, including but not limited to the weekly digital bulletin, the ACDS website and any other digital or hard copy
Monitor and complete action items arising from meetings of the Board of Directors (board) and the various
Attend and record minutes for board meetings, and for any other ACDS committee or other relevant meeting as requested by the b
Manage organizational finances, to include bookkeeping, check writing, bank account reconciliation and any other financial
Utilize QuickBooks Pro to assist the treasurer with preparation of financial reports and any ongoing financial analyses including annual budget
Ensure annual tax preparation is completed in a timely manager by a certified public accountant.
Coordinate all events of the ACDS, including but not limited to the General Membership dinner meetings, other CE courses and events, and any social events hosted by
Organize, maintain and store the bylaws, minutes and other legal documents and permanent
Understand and implement association governance policies and practices, in alignment with the strategic and business plans.
Make sure all legal, financial and insurance paperwork and filings are completed in a timely manner
Research and attempt to resolve individual member problems brought to the attention of ACDS that pertain to the areas of jurisdiction within the ACDS
Respond to ACDS member e-mails and phone calls within one (1) business day (24 hours) and/or ensure membership is notified by out-of-office reply, outgoing phone message or announcement in the bulletin if away from the office for more than 24
Serve as liaison to the CDA and ADA, and any other relevant organizations and
Support and attend the CDA House of Delegates meeting (as necessary), CDA Component meetings and any other dental society meetings as requested by the
Represent ACDS at any other “stakeholders” meetings as appropriate or requested by the board or
Demonstrated experience in association volunteer relations, program development, education and event planning, membership recruitment and retention, finances and operations, and communications.
Understand the dynamics of working with a volunteer Board of Directors and committee leadership in a professional, effective and efficient manner.
A highly collaborative professional who drives partnership, alignment, and communication.
Proven leadership skills in being flexible, team-oriented and process driven.

About Alameda County Dental Society
The Alameda County Dental Society (ACDS) seeks a talented and dynamic Executive Director (ED) to serve as a part-time (22-24 hours/week) independent contractor of the ACDS. The ED will be responsible for all aspects of running an association and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
The ACDS is one of 32 local incorporated components of the California Dental Association and serves 307 member dentists of Alameda County. With a rich history dating back to the early 1900’s and strong organizational ties to the California Dental Association and American Dental Association, ACDS is a recognized leader in organized dentistry. Members benefit from programs in areas of continuing education, regulatory compliance, professional advocacy, practice support and professional networking.
