Professional Association seeking a high-energy candidate with 3-5+ years, including Association experience and leadership skills to serve as a unifying force to lead communication discussions at both the strategic and tactical level!
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the communication methods for the organization; including writing daily content, managing substantive publications, support advertising, promotion, and other related special projects and initiatives. This position work with the outside Design Consultant and works closely with Sr. Manger of Membership and Professional Development.
A background in Intellectual Property, journalism, press secretary, membership or professional/trade association, or communications is strongly desired. Candidate should have very strong writing, editing and project management skills, be self-motivated, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing & Communication
This position is responsible for: Developing, implementing and maintaining an external communication strategy; coordinating with staff to compile any content needed for electronic newsletters; and will serve as the primary author for daily AIPLA News content, press releases and other external outreach. This position will: Manage Press and Media outreach; online and social media, and identify promotional vehicles, ranging from traditional to new media and social marketing possibilities.
This position will manage and work with an outside Design Consultant to supervise the development of AIPLA membership marketing collateral and to maintain consistent branding. It will necessary to implement small design changes and edits to AIPLA marketing material when needed.
The Marketing & Communications Manager will represent AIPLA in developing outreach relationships with a variety of community, arts, media and other organizations.

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience require. MBA or JD is a plus and experience with intellectual property is strongly desired.
Very strong writing, editing and project management skills required. Ability to apply sound analytical decision-making processes and approaches; communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings; and establishes and maintains production schedules.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator and imaging technology, Dreamweaver, Flash, CMS and HTML, and Adobe InDesign; database familiarity a plus. Travel required and the ability to work weekends as needed.
