The National Mining Association (NMA), a DC based trade association, seeks an individual to leverage industry and public policy knowledge to identify new opportunities for membership growth, through a strategic and sales-oriented approach.
Design and implement a comprehensive outreach plan that expands NMA’s member base, focusing on strategic growth and data-driven results
Work with senior leadership and other NMA staff to implement tactical efforts ensuring growth objectives are met
Identify and qualify new opportunities in NMA’s strategic market segments; meet monthly benchmarks and expansion metrics
Build and promote strong, long-lasting member relationships to facilitate dues renewal rates that exceed current standards
Proactively conduct business development activities, working with leadership to ensure appropriate strategies are developed
Analyze financial information and key policy issues of concern to design an approach strategy for each prospective member
Target CEOs and c-level executives for personal one-on-one sales meetings by conducting research, managing outreach, and documenting success rates
Clearly articulate the NMA value proposition effectively to attract new members through collateral development and other communication vehicles
Track and report all activities and results according to transparent and measurable metrics
Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, marketing and/or political science
Minimum of 5 years previous experience as a membership development manager, business development manager, or sales manager
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization
Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team player
Experience in association management a plus, but not required
