The Education Assistant position provides critical support to AMWA’s Education program as it works to fulfill AMWA’s mission to promote excellence in medical communication and provide education in support of that goal.
The Assistant’s main responsibilities include education order fulfillment, education program administrative support, member database and learner systems support, and customer/member service. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Assistant has significant interaction with members, prospects, customers and other staff.
AMWA staff members have an opportunity to use and expand a variety of skills, think creatively, and innovate along with the organization. As a small staff organization, AMWA supports a collaborative working environment and recognizes the importance of each position’s value in meeting organizational goals. In this role, the Assistant will become familiar with all AMWA’s programs in order to provide high-quality service to AMWA members and customers.
Major areas of responsibility include
Fulfilling Essential Skills (ES) workbook orders and coordinating ES digital enrollments
Supporting other AMWA education programs (online learning, conferences/events, workshops) as needed
Completing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in the association management systems (AMS) and learning management system (LMS) to ensure database record integrity and administrative effectiveness
Providing high-quality member service and customer support for AMWA’s education program, and other programs as needed
Qualifications
One to three years of work experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization or association
BA/BS Degree preferred
Strong skills using Excel to manage data and information in spreadsheets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to details
Experience with databases, data entry, and reporting
Strong technology skills including Office 365 Suite, PowerPoint, Survey Monkey, Google Docs
Ability to prioritize and manage a workflow that involves interruptions and multiple projects at the same time
Strong customer service orientation
Professional demeanor and ability to work in a team setting
Experience with association management and event registration systems preferred

Additional Salary Information: AMWA uses ASAE's compensation survey to determine salary ranges aligning with position title, organization size, and location.
The position will start as remote due to the pandemic. Typically, the office is based in Rockville, MD.
