POSITION DESCRIPTION: The HR Coordinator will be responsible for handling the administration of human resources and recruiting functions, including but not limited to talent acquisition and applicant tracking, employee record keeping, new hire process/orientation. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources
Provide day to day confidential administrative, operational, and project support to the Human Resources Manager, aligning our high-performance culture and team with the strategic goals of the company
In collaboration with the HR Manager, create a sense of community and keep a pulse on culture by supporting proactive information exchanges through HR Forum and one on one check-ins
Partner with the HR Manager to design programs to best match our team members' needs
Provide support for the ACTFL's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion activities
In collaboration with HR Manager, conduct initial resume reviews, initial video chat screenings, and working with the hiring managers to schedule and facilitate follow up interviews
Assist all aspects of the employee's onboarding experience from offer letter by completing HR, compliance, and job-related training.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex problems to Human Resource Manager
Work on specific HR projects with the Human Resource Manager, including working with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, drafting job descriptions, job postings, recruitment, benefits, training, and HR forums
Assist with the preparation and presentation of HR training sessions (i.e., Ethics, Anti-Harassment, Leadership, etc.).
Assist in the maintenance of ACTFL organizational chart
Coordinate with Finance and Payroll to communicate data for new hire set-up in the payroll system
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and celebrations
Assist with administering the ACTFL's Rewards and Recognition program
Performs other related duties as assigned
Office Management Support
The HR Coordinator will work onsite in our Alexandria, VA location and will be expected to assist with various office management-related activities. Among other tasks, this could include facilities support and ensuring that all guests and staff adhere to ACTFL Social-Distancing Policies while in the office. COVID-19: If required, take temperatures at the door, and maintain mask requirement while social-distancing precautions are mandated.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred or in-progress
Two years of experience in a similar role supporting human resource preferred
Working knowledge of HR best practices, procedures, and employment law, business systems (HRIS), and office administration
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 or the ability to quickly learn in other office-related software, e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, G-Suite, iMIS
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and empathize with others
Strong background in research and sourcing, including market research, trends, and social media. (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Flexible and adaptable interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
Can manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Association or nonprofit experience preferred
