Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) – the national association representing America’s pharmacy benefit managers seeks a Director, Accounting and Operations. PCMA continues to lead the effort in promoting PBMs and the proven tools they utilize, which are recognized by consumers, employers, policymakers, and others as key drivers in lowering prescription drug costs and increasing access. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Hands on management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Maintain vendor records to ensure details are accurate for remittance and 1099 filings. Work with team members to ensure revenue is received and recorded accurately. Prepare monthly closing entries and maintain supporting documentation to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
Support annual audit, corporate tax filings, budget preparation and budget variances reports.
Maintain financial schedules and execute ad hoc accounting projects as assigned.
Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations that will improve operations and administration.
Provide support to operations of the association including technology, equipment, and facilities management. Maintain relationship with technology vendors to ensure world class service.
Coordinate and submit timely and accurate PAC and lobby filings.
Coordinate with VP, Human Resources on accounting for employee benefits, payroll, and employee expense reports.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of accounting systems and spreadsheets. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting software considered a plus.
Knowledge of accounting department workflow including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting.
Must be skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational, time-management and communication skills.
Experience selecting and adopting to new technology solutions.
Comfortable managing diverse and multiple responsibilities with an enthusiasm for learning new responsibilities.
While PCMA staff is currently working remotely, post-pandemic we will return in person to PCMA offices in the Penn Quarter area of Washington, D.C. We are an in-person workforce.
