ISPE is seeking a Director, Information Technology, who will be the information systems and technology authority for the organization. This role is responsible for the overall strategy, planning, organization and execution of all IT functions, operations, and staff. The Director will focus on the effective selection, implementation and use of technology to achieve strategic and operational objectives across the organization. This position reports to the ISPE COO/CFO and has accountability to all ISPE departments, the ISPE Foundation, the Board of Directors and key committees.
This position requires a forward thinker and is responsible for positioning the Association for success from a systems and network perspective. It works closely with ISPE Leadership Team and the Project Management Office to ensure that the best possible IT systems and processes are in place and that new initiatives are regularly considered. There are many special projects where this position will either serve as the project owner or manager or have input.
Essential Functions:
Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
Manage, support and maintain existing applications
Direct and manage the purchase or development of new technical solutions
Manage company help desk and serve as tier 3 support for computer and network issues
Manage Office 365 environment including Sharepoint and Teams
Oversee and managing association management system (iMIS)
Plan, test and implement customizations to association management system (iMIS)
Manage IT inventory, asset management and software licensing
Oversee, manage, and test data backup and disaster recovery functions and procedures
Manage line of business applications that provide key functions for ISPE departments
Manage data, data access and reporting with an eye on data privacy including GDPR
Manage relationships with key vendors
Manage virtual and physical server environment
Monitor network and remediate systems issues
Ensure computer and network security
Lead team of IT Staff and communicate within team and across departments as needed
Work effectively with departments to provide timely information and resources needed to make decisions
Research new methods and remain current with IT trends and best practices
Direct and prioritize IT department projects
Devise and establish IT policies, budgets and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by senior leaders
Analyze business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
Create solutions to eliminate internal inefficiencies, offer new products or services or integrate with a third party
Evaluate operational and budget impact of changes to business processes
Ensure compliance with business rules and regulations (e.g., PCI, GDPR)
Implement updated data and network security measures as needed
Create and manage to departmental budget
Work to increase user satisfaction
Education or Experience:
Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Business Administration
5 years working with Microsoft Operating Systems (Server 2012, Windows 10)
5 years working with Active Directory
5 years’ experience managing other IT professionals.
5 years’ experience using SQL.
3 years working with Microsoft Office 365
3 years of work experience with IS systems in a VM Ware environment.
2 years working with public cloud infrastructure (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, public cloud infrastructure, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Experience in IT project management and analysis/redesign of business processes required.
Solid IT management experience in oversight of both infrastructure and applications.
Experience with off-site applications and system administration required.
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision making skills and the ability to leverage IT to support business objectives.
Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects at once.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under stress.
Ability to motivate and work amicably with others
