The National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the only national association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools, is seeking a proactive and collaborative professional to serve as Manager, Member Engagement (a new position).
The Manager, Member Engagement plays a key role on the membership and marketing team to grow NBOA member value, support member retention strategies and increase member involvement with the association. The incumbent will manage a variety of member engagement efforts including new member onboarding, online community management, purchasing programs including both PurchasingPoint purchasing consortium and Business Solution Partners (formerly NBOA’s Affinity Partner program), among other programs. The manager also supports social media and email marketing efforts in coordination with other team members and in alignment with the association’s strategic plan.
Essential responsibilities for this position include:
Support NBOA’s membership marketing activities including dues renewals, member and volunteer engagement, and member school retention strategies.
Manage new member onboarding processes including welcome emails, onboarding website, and overall onboarding strategies for new NBOA member schools.
Execute member engagement email program, including Member Monthly periodic resource emails and other communications to engage members in the full spectrum of NBOA member benefits.
Support NBOA Connect by recommending new engagement strategies, monitoring discussions, identifying trends and working with Connect Ambassadors.
Serve as primary contact for the PurchasingPoint program and Business Solution Partners programs.
Manage all aspects of the NBOA CareerHQ including marketing to both member and nonmember schools and job candidates.
Use Acumen software and manage engagement data to identify opportunities for additional engagement and to highlight the success of current engagement strategies particularly as they relate to the strategic plan.
Implement engagement strategies through NBOA social media platforms, in conjunction with Director, Marketing, and assist in overall management of NBOA social media platforms.
Collaborate with marketing team in the webinar and course marketing process, including mail pieces, web content and email marketing.
Support marketing and engagement promotions for BIIS (Business Intelligence for Independent Schools) data collection platform, the Net Assets portfolio of member publications and other publications.
Work with the Learning Team to develop new member engagement opportunities at NBOA events.
Provide onsite support at the NBOA Annual Meeting and other meetings as requested.
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
At least three years experience with a membership organization or program with a track record of member/customer engagement.
Proven experience in marketing programs and products including writing and scheduling compelling email and social media content.
Experience with NetForum preferred or other association management systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Familiarity with marketing tools and platforms such as Real Magnet, SproutSocial, Buffer and Canva.

Ability to travel as required, at minimum, approximately one week in either February or March, and for short-term meeting travel.
