The Marketing Manager will create and manage the entire marketing and communication strategy and execution. This individual will enhance program, membership and event ads, and communications in various formats. This full-time position plays a pivotal role in helping us grow through excellent and innovative communications and integrated marketing tactics. Experience with associations is required. Project management skills are necessary to manage multiple deadlines, projects and campaigns. This position is ideal for someone with 8 – 10 years of experience who can develop and implement marketing plans, as well as be the integral team member to bring together all messaging and post/send out all communications.
Create, implement and execute marketing plans and tactics for programs and initiatives.
Strategize copy and coordinate communications for major initiatives and programs via social media posts, email blasts, websites, newsletters, weekly e-newsbrief, ads, press releases, and other mediums. Manage communication calendar.
Meticulously proofread and edit all emails, letters, newsletters, ads, and communications.
Develop effective, measurable, social media strategies, ideas, and create content to grow engagement and followers.
Draft and send out press releases and pitch content as appropriate with our partners.
Liaise with media in order to set up interviews, obtain media responses, and proof copy. Track pick up. Pitch content as needed and develop relationships with key media.
Strategize, draft copy, coordinate content and disseminate 6 newsletters (2 monthly; 3 bi-monthly; 1 quarterly). Work with the team and volunteers to gather content as needed.
Monitor marketing campaigns and provide reports on metrics and recommendations.
Develop ad concepts, copy and layout, and coordinate with the designer to update, edit, and submit ads as needed.
Strategize different campaigns throughout the year to meet goals and provide relevant and timely content.
Manage and implement our style guidelines for consistency and professional content/appearance.
Develop and implement marketing plans and tactics for events, education, and programs (i.e., certificate and accreditation programs, educational toolkits and guidelines, etc.)
Promote events and programs to key audiences. Record promotional efforts.
Develop content and proof other projects as defined, as well as learn how to post copy on the website if needed.
Work with volunteers, committees and task forces as related to current work and projects.
Submit annual budget for marketing and communication efforts.
Attend conference, coordinate press and assist with registration.
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills. Eagle eye proofreader!
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
Current working knowledge of all social media platforms. Familiarity with Constant Contact, Sprout, Google Analytics, Social Platforms, and Facebook Insights preferred.
Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
Some design experience is a plus.
Work successfully in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Continue to advance understanding of new technologies, marketing tactics and best practices.
Results-oriented with ability to accomplish project and team goals.
Experience with volunteers is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or English preferred.
7+ years of working experience in marketing (within the healthcare, veterinary, or science industries is a plus)
Must have experience with non-profit association marketing and communications.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and able to learn new technology applications.
Must be able to travel 1-3 times per year.
