The Associate of Communications and Membership Services for Education Finance Council (EFC) performs a range of responsibilities related to the delivery of services to EFC’s members, enhancing the effectiveness of EFC communications, and providing administrative support for the EFC Team. Qualified candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, experience developing and executing social media strategy, and the desire to learn new skills. This position requires initiative and an ability to work both independently and in teams. This position regularly interacts with C-suite executives and must maintain positive and professional communication and relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Services
Serve as the initial point of contact for EFC member calls and inquiries
Develop relationships with EFC members by responding to their questions and requests, and supporting the services EFC offers
Maintain the EFC website, both public facing and association management system portions, ensuring the information is remains accurate and relevant
Develop and manage member surveys and requests for data and information and provide summary analysis as directed
Support the development and production of deliverables for EFC members under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Development and the Director of Government Affairs and Communications
EFC Committees and Board Support
Provide administrative support for EFC committees and the Board of Directors, including, scheduling meetings, agenda development, and providing summaries and/or formal minutes
Maintain the content of and access to the committee pages on the EFC website
Maintain Board history
Communications?Publications?Marketing?Collateral Support
Responsible for content, authoring, and dissemination of EFC publications including the daily EFC Exchange newsletter, Quarterly Review, and weekly ICYMI
Support the Director of Government Affairs and Communications to create and execute a marketing plan, which includes website optimization, social media strategy and content development, and blogging
Attend Congressional hearings and other industry meetings to produce written summaries for the EFC Team, membership, and publications
Draft and edit copy for communications, including external publications, reports, social media, advocacy tools and resources, and policy statements
Assist with the necessary data collection from EFC members to support the publication of EFC’s National Report, Affiliate Member Services Guides, Membership Directory, and other documents, tools, and resources
Conference, Meeting & Event Planning Support
Provide support and assistance to the Director of Operations and Development for EFC’s conferences and events, including conference planning, preparation of materials, managing registrations, staffing the registration table, and post-conference activities

JOB LOCATION
Greater Washington, DC. Currently the position is primarily remote but may return to a hybrid work environment.
EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with some office experience
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills, including note taking and the ability to accurately summarize materials and events
Experience in digital engagement with a focus on social media
An ability to manage and balance multiple priorities and effectively communicate the status of projects
An ability to build and maintain professional relationships with people from all backgrounds, views, and political affiliations, including colleagues, Board members, C-suite executives, and external partners
Professional, goal-oriented team player and a self-starter who takes pride in a job well done
Detail-oriented with the highest degree of accuracy in all activities
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with website maintenance and e-mail marketing tools is preferred but not required
Knowledge of Google Analytics and search engine optimization is a plus but not required
Education Finance Council (EFC) is the national trade association representing nonprofit and state-based higher education finance organizations. These entities strive to increase postsecondary access and affordability in their states and nationwide.
EFC Members have provided millions families the resources needed to successfully plan, save, and pay for college. These resources include FAFSA completion events and help centers, scholarship programs, college planning centers, financial aid workshops and information sessions, financial literacy workshops, and support services for members of the military, veterans, and at-risk and low-income youth, including homeless and foster youth.
A number of EFC Members are also working collaboratively within their states to implement education-to-employment pathways programs that address specific workforce development needs in their states.
