Job Description:
Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading ABA’s software/systems projects including planning, progress monitoring and reporting, feature, problem/resolution tracking and release planning and deployment. This position also supports UAT and regression testing supervision. The Senior Project Manager ensures the integrity of project deliverables, including on-time and on-budget delivery.
The Senior Project Manager serves as the bridge between internal clients and developers responsible for implementation. This role is responsible for overseeing system functionality while balancing effective communication to stakeholders and end users.
In addition to exceptional software systems project management skills, the Senior Project Manager must foster strong partnership and communication with stakeholders at all levels – this role requires strong collaboration skills among cross functional teams paired with strong technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management of Nimble/Salesforce Upgrade projects:
- Review vendor release notes and determine business impacts by working with application team and business stakeholders
- Develop, maintain, and update standard project management processes
- Plan projects, including work breakdown schedules, deliverables, milestones, and resources needed in the form of staff hours, budget, use of technology and tools and document in project plan, following established project management methodology
- Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project. Work with team to negotiate and prioritize resource availability and allocation. Set project scope, priorities, deadlines and deliverable schedules
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time within the stipulated scope, schedule, and budget
- Lead the initiation and planning of a project and ensure technical feasibility
- Coordinate with internal and external parties
- Perform risk management analysis to reduce project risks
- Identify and communicate project risks and issues; and develop actions to mitigate and resolve them and keep the project on schedule.
- Produce weekly project status reports showing Scope, Schedule, Budget status.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive project documentation
Work with vendors and stakeholders to:
- Provide analytic solutioning to problems as they occur – consulting with business/troubleshooting
- Maintain integrated project schedule of implementations which integrate with NimbleAMS platform (eg. ABA.com and LMS)
- Manage integrated User Acceptance Testing for releases.
- Determine business needs and functionalities desired for new or revised application.
Project Forecast Snapshot:
- Vendor initiated NimbleAMS upgrade releases – approximately three Nimble functional and three Nimble maintenance releases annually
- Three Vendor initiated Salesforce upgrade projects annually
- ABA initiated Nimble Functional improvement projects – monthly
- Manage environment data refreshes as scheduled
- Other Projects in support of the IT Department as assigned
Collaboration and Governance - Provide detailed and accurate communication to all stakeholders:
- Collaborate within IT (Development and Infrastructure groups to ensure all performance and business continuity goals are met)
- Communicate with ABA business stakeholders on issues and new features via email, Intranet posts and other change management platforms
- Lead and/or participate in functional area Nimble AMS/Salesforce governance meetings and other customer facing groups
- Lead IT Change Control Board
- Problem solving in collaboration with business stakeholders about business processes and their implementation in Nimble
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Information Technology or related field required
- At least 6 – 8 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience in project and/or release management
- Certified Project Management Professional required
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall development environments
- Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with technical teams as well as non-technical audiences
- Able to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities, strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong customer and team focus with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and end users within a diverse environment, maintaining positive and productive relationships with all departments within ABA; ability to manage up, down and across the aisle
- Strong understanding of business cases and risk management processes
- Proven self-management and team-management skills
- Ability to monitor and control project budgets
- Ability to make decisions under pressure; exercise strong judgement
- Hands-on experience managing projects/releases in a Nimble AMS/Salesforce environment preferred
- Familiarity with planning tools such as MS Azure DevOps and Planner preferred
- Ability to travel (<20%)
