DATABASE SENIOR MANAGER

Position Overview:
The Database Senior Manager is responsible for managing and supporting NAIOP’s association management system (AMS), Protech. The Senior Manager will be the primary liaison between NAIOP and Protech, while also serving as the first point of contact within the association for all support requests. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining accurate procedures, managing third-party relationships, project management of software upgrades, training staff on Protech functionality and upgrades, and protection of personal data.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support including system configuration, complex reports, and system maintenance, and assist users in applying best practices.
- Responsible for the daily administration and support of the database.
- Develop, manage, and test security, backup, and recovery plans.
- Develop new query and report formats, as needed, and add them to Protech.
- Train new employees and outside partners on the proper use of Protech applications and train existing staff on new features or releases as they become available.
- Serve as the NAIOP liaison with Protech staff to resolve application challenges and to develop enhancements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot API between Protech and third-party portals such as Higher Logic and Elevate LMS.
- Develop specialized objects (compiled code) or scripts as needed within Protech and develops and installs customizations within the system to enhance its functionality.
- Evaluate current Protech processes and recommend changes that improve efficiency and use the capabilities of Protech.
- Establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and business processes for data maintenance and governance.
- Ensure the maintenance and protection of the membership database including both member and non-member records.
- Oversee all staff education and training related to the membership database including record changes and report generation.
- Track all outside vendors with access to NAIOP’s personal data and verify compliance with data privacy policies and procedures.
- Direct and support implementation of database upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience working with association management systems (Protech preferred) and providing database solutions in a membership organization
- A minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Dynamics
- Basic knowledge of SQL and development of relational database-based reports
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in databases and spreadsheets
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid organizational skills

- Adaptability
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technology-related field
