The Entomological Society of America (ESA) is looking for a DEI and Grants Program Manager to assist in the fostering of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive membership and profession and work to leverage public and private funding opportunities through proposal writing, grants tracking and reporting, and sub award management. We are looking for an independent, creative, and detailed person for this role.
Responsibilities
- DEI
- Assist with the planning and execution of inclusion of DEI programs, including webinars, mentorship programs, and Awards and Honors
- Partner with Director of DEI to coordinate ongoing D&I Committee Meetings
- Work with internal communications to develop a voice and communication strategy for stakeholders who are underrepresented in STEM and entomology
- Track DEI metrics
- Assist with the design and implementation of intentional educational programming to raise awareness and competency of stakeholders
- Maintain DEI webpage
- Grants
- Research various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each
- Compile necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other factfinding actions and meetings
- Coordinate the submission of grant applications according to application requirements
- Monitor and evaluate grant funded programs and projects
- Develop and maintain master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants
- Develop grant-related programs as assigned
- Track grant related expenses
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated desire and ability to create diverse, inclusive and equitable professional or academic communities
- Strong project management skills, including organization and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a knack for simplifying complex concepts and telling the greater story.
- Thorough understanding federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding
- Thorough understanding of grant writing, funding policies, and relevant procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports
- Ten to fifteen percent work-related travel
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). ESA is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, but the position is open to US-based remote applicants.
