The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), located in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be a key leader in driving project growth and development. AUVSI offers employees a generous benefits package and work-from-home flexibility. This position will require occasional on-site work. As a prospective and/or new employee, you will be required to comply with the company’s vaccination protocol.
As the CFO, you will partner with both the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the senior leadership team to chart the organization’s future growth and strategic response to a competitive environment with a focus on increasing demand for the organization’s programs and member services. You will be responsible for providing executive leadership, vision, and oversight for the organization and serve as a collaborative member of the senior management team, providing strategic and accurate financial advice to the CEO, the Board, and the senior leadership team.
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for the financial management of AUVSI and will oversee the accounting functions, budgeting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, cash flow management, investments, and financial controls and policies. The CFO acts as a careful steward – budgeting for projects and innovation, while mitigating risk and appropriately allocating resources. The CFO oversees the Human Resources function, and provides input for other operational areas where appropriate.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related business field plus a minimum of ten years of experience leading complex financial operations and planning. This position requires experience in the leadership of successful financial operations, including achieving financial growth goals, successfully engaging with senior leadership in the optimization of product and program delivery, developing pricing strategies, and performing return on investment analysis for future initiatives. AUVSI seeks individuals with knowledge and experience managing Board and Board committee relationships, experience launching new initiatives and processes, and knowledge of all aspects of GAAP and FASB and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws, and rules for financial and tax reporting. CPA and/or MBA is strongly preferred; experience with for-profit organizations is a plus.
