We are seeking a Manager, Practice Resources & Education Technology to manage and administer the Society’s Learning Management System (LMS), including but not limited to configuration of online exams and assessments, reporting, and working internal and external partners to ensure web-based integrations and system upgrades. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Education team to develop e-learning products and services via the LMS and maintain workflows for program requirements. Our ideal candidate is one who will serve as a key contributor in leading the Education department’s integration and use of technology throughout the educational portfolio, continually monitor new technologies and industry trends, and advise team on new features and tools to enhance LMS functionality.
What you’ll bring to the job:
- A minimum of 6 years of previous experience in online education development and LMS management.
- BA/BS degree highly preferred.
- Experience developing educational programs required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate-to-advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with the following components/systems are required:
- Learning management systems (preferably Oasis or similar platform)
- Content authoring tools such as Captivate and Articulate
- Webcasting
- Video editing tools, such as Camtasia
- CRM or association management system (Netforum preferred)
- Experience with association and/or ACCME requirements and annual reporting is a plus.
- Capacity to recognize the contributions of all team members, both internal and external, in dealings with members and collaborators.
- Ability to travel several times a year and work weekends or after-hours, on occasion.
- Appropriate technical skills required for proficiency in the use of technology (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, database management, etc.) and able to learn new technology as required.

What you’ll own:
Manage technical components of course creation and maintenance, including:
- Managing the creation and configuration of LMS courses and educational initiatives and/or enhancements to existing courses.
- Assisting course authors with publishing course content from authorware tools.
- Creating, managing, and enforcing LMS content publication standards, ensuring that any new courses integrate into other Society systems and meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
- Collaborating with analysts, designers, and internal system owners in the testing of new courses and applications, including quality assurance of e-learning content and course configuration.
- Assisting with development of customized and standard reports generated from LMS, including learner performance, question performance, and other reports as needed.
- Assisting in data collection and reporting of annual ACCME reports via the Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).
- Serving as lead staff contact for our audience response system, trains colleagues to program the system and test operations in advance of activities, develops appropriate report formats and conducts necessary statistical analyses with data to meet the Society’s need for outcomes measurement, question validation, etc.
Drives development and delivery of existing self-assessment educational products (ESAP, Pediatric ESAP) and new products through:
- Identifying potential challenges and concerns alongside the workgroup chair(s) and team to develop solutions to issues such as schedule adherence, workgroup member concerns, and quality of content.
- Managing and supporting faculty for content development including identifying experts, collaborating with member leaders to identify content area gaps and strategies to fill them, and providing educational design and digital learning strategy.
- Entering content into online platforms and maintaining/updating to ensure uniformity across them and strategizing best ways to present educational content.
- Providing strong customer service on products and programs, including creating user-facing guides and implementing enhancements.
- Developing necessary required outcome reports and updates including sales trends, evaluation data, and question performance data.
- Guiding development of publications with internal and external stakeholders, including developing promotional pieces and communications plans.
- Collaborating with Digital Learning team members on product enhancements and derivative products.
- Collecting and maintaining required documentation required by accrediting bodies.
Manage the library of conference session recordings and related products, including:
- Coordinating the delivery of the enduring library with the Event Education Design team.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for the licensing team to coordinate the delivery of recordings.
Maintain and support LMS platform and users to include learners and internal administrators by:
- Managing LMS static content, menus, forms.
- Maintaining system best practices such as course set-up processes and naming conventions and provide training and related resources to other LMS administrators to ensure system-wide consistency.
- Ensuring interface is intuitive to end-user and continually optimizing for accessibility of content.
- Collaborating with the Digital Learning Coordinator and Member Services team to troubleshoot and resolve user issues with the LMS and activities.
- Collaborating with IT department to implement software updates to LMS and related systems.
- Researching and resolving learner and administrator issues as needed.
- Working with our learning technical provider (LMS) to troubleshoot high level technical issues pertaining to course functionality.
- Collaborating with internal database administrators and vendors to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
- Reviewing and analyzing existing application effectiveness and efficiency (if applicable) and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Contribute to and execute the education technology strategy and evolution:
- Researching and making recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Managing and providing direction for course and application development projects in support of business operations.
- Managing and executing delivery of webinars with other departments as needed.
- Assisting Educational team with development and maintenance of digital learning offerings.
- Collaborating with IT department to implement software updates to LMS and related systems.
- Collaborating with Educational team to define business goals and processes and recommend solutions.
- Developing project plans, timelines, and milestones for such initiatives as they apply to the LMS and other platforms.
- Assisting, as needed, with budgets and contracts, vendor invoices, accounts payable for the department, and evaluating and selecting new vendor services.
