This position drives all strategic internal and external marcom initiatives related to event, certification, membership, education and other professional development programs for members and the regulatory profession at-large. This role is also responsible for spearheading the digital transformation of systems and practices to increase marketing efficiencies, imp[rove data integrity and elevate communications capabilities. This position leads a team of professionals focused on creating and executing complex campaigns to enhance member value and event engagement, while driving overall revenue for the Association. This position is a member of RAPS' senior management team and serves as a key business leader on organization-wide strategic priorities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan that advances RAPS brand identity, broadens awareness of its programs and priorities, supports strategic goals/objectives, increases revenue and drives engagement
Lead the digital transformation of RAPS marcom systems and practices to increase efficiencies, improve data integrity and elevate communications capabilities, includes an emphasis on marketing automation, UX/UI and SEO/SEM
Establish and reinforce clear brand identity, positioning and messaging
Develop and implement a strategic engagement strategy in order to grow audiences and facilitate an effective RAPS presence across all mediums to include email, RAPS website, electronic newsletters, social media platforms, blogs, RegEx, content marketing, etc.
Create marketing/public relations strategy which will allow RAPS leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences
Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization and the regulatory profession at-large; identify internal/external communications opportunities and solutions, and develop and execute strategies to support them
Oversee development of all RAPS collateral including the “year in review”, marketing materials and electronic communications such as the RAPS website and social media; manage relationships with associated vendors
Develop a comprehensive, actionable campaign reporting strategy that leads with data and analytics to optimize performance and decision-making
Develop and implement monitoring and tracking systems to ensure RAPS is able to monitor trends which may positively or negatively impact the organization, its stakeholders, and the regulatory community
Oversee design and visual imagery used in communications and marketing materials to ensure proper positioning of RAPS brand identity and reputation
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the department including budgeting, planning and staff development
Manage/mentor seven direct reports and an overall team of 12. Nurture excellent relationships to create an effective and supportive team. Team size may grow based on organizational needs/priorities.
Skills & Experience
12+ years in a strategic marketing communications role, with an emphasis on making data-driven decisions and managing a diverse, hybrid (remote/office) team
Demonstrated success in marketing planning and strategy, marketing workflows, business process design, behavioral marketing, and data mining and analysis
Executive presence and dynamic professional style that inspires confidence internally and externally
Strategic thinker able to turn trends into opportunities to build member and customer engagement and drive business
Proven leadership skills and market research knowledge
Experience with current online media, SEO, web analytics and social media content development
Direct experience creating and managing email, automated marketing campaigns, advertising, social media
Excellent copywriting skills with proven results across different audiences to engage, educate, and motivate
Experience in developing and executing multiple, integrated cross-channel campaigns to meet marketing objectives
Experience that shows strategic, creative, and analytical thinking
Excellent internal/external communication and project management skills
