Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announces the search for the organization’s next Executive Director. OPA’s Board of Directors has retained Benefactor Group, a Columbus-based, nationally recognized consulting firm serving nonprofit organizations, to conduct an extensive search for the organization’s next leader.
Founded in 1879, the Ohio Pharmacists Association unites those in the profession of pharmacy and encourages interprofessional relations while promoting public health through education, discussion, and legislation. The Ohio Pharmacists Association seeks an experienced pharmacy professional to succeed a long-time, visionary leader. The incoming Executive Director will be a thought partner to a diverse Board of Trustees who come together in their service and in their commitment to positively shaping the direction of the pharmacy profession in Ohio and beyond.
The Executive Director will succeed Ernie Boyd, who retired from the organization in October of 2022, after 34 years as Executive Director. Donald Bennett, past OPA president and Ohio Pharmacists Foundation Board Member, is currently serving as the Executive Director in the interim.
Under Ernie’s leadership, OPA has risen to national recognition as a leading voice in the pharmacy community. The incoming Executive Director has an opportunity to build on this momentum and national profile to deepen the organization’s impact and continue to expand the opportunities of pharmacists in Ohio to positively impact public health.
The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA), established in 1879, represents more than 4,000 pharmacists, pharmacy educators, and pharmacy students throughout the state. It is OPA’s mission to unite the profession of pharmacy and encourage interprofessional relations, while promoting public health through education, discussion, and legislation.
