The National Security Space Association (NSSA) is seeking a bright, energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented operations coordinator to join our team of talented professionals in a rapidly growing industry association, assisting with day-to-day association activities.
NSSA (www.nssaspace.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit support association solely dedicated to the National Security Space enterprise, to include the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, and the Intelligence Community. NSSA works to advance long-term cooperation among industry and government, leading the way with expert opinion, insight and analysis.
The operations coordinator will provide general support across a variety of tasks, including general staff support, membership development, member relations, workforce development, communications, event planning and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
Membership Development
Conduct research to identify potential industry partners
Outreach and scheduling membership meetings with NSSA leadership
Develop relationships with potential and current industry partners
Track various points of contact within member organizations
Coordinate renewals with existing members
Provide detailed weekly reports of status of membership program to include renewals, prospects, and accounts receivable
Management of membership portion of website to ensure accuracy
Serve as a point of contact for member questions
Event Planning
Planning for in-person and virtual events at both the unclassified and classified level
Support all event logistics activities
Support planning and presentations for Board of Advisors and Board of Directors meetings
Coordinate logistics for workforce development programs and events
Communications
Support weekly email newsletter and other email marketing efforts
Work with communications team on social media outreach
Support media outreach and cultivating media contact relationships
Manage contact and distribution lists to maintain up to date information
Experience/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience for or with industry associations, private sector industry, or government
Strong organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while meeting deadlines and attending to the smallest of details
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel, including weekends
Ability to work and support events outside of normal work hours, to include nights and weekends
Preferred
Experience in national security or space a plus
CAE or other relevant professional certifications are a plus
Active security clearance a plus
