About The Foundation The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (Foundation) is the only national nonprofit solely dedicated to funding physical therapy research and promising researchers through grants, scholarships, and fellowships. We fund research and develop researchers to optimize movement and health. The Foundation is an affiliate of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Foundation staff are employed by APTA and receive the same employee benefits and adhere to APTA policies and procedures.
Summary The ideal candidate thrives at frontline annual fundraising and is comfortable with a fast-paced work environment; is self-motivated and highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy. You will be responsible for designing and leading annual giving efforts by utilizing data and implementing strategies to (1) expand the total number of donors with a focus of re-engaging lapsed donors (2) increase renewals / retention rates; (3) increase the average gift size; (4) secure corporate renewals and new gifts from corporate donors.
This position leads direct mail, e-solicitation, conference fundraising strategies, and annual grant opportunities to increase annual giving. This position reports to the Manager, Development and collaborates with other fundraising and communication team members to achieve goals.
Essential Functions
Increases funding from individuals, foundations, corporations and other organizations through online giving, monthly giving, direct mail, telethon program, digital campaigns, advertisements, conferences, and events with an emphasis on unrestricted gifts up to $4.9k
Utilizes Raiser Edge data and donor segmentation to cultivate and upgrade donors and prospects
Develops and prepares written materials for annual giving including correspondence, appeals, stewardship materials, fundraising talking points for the board and volunteers and other fundraising collateral.
Writes copy and executes online fundraising campaigns with communications staff for annual year-end giving, special appeals related to various annual efforts, and Giving Tuesday another other giving days.
Analyzes program results to refine efforts and increase return on investment.
Assists with evaluation and analysis of annual giving, provides reports on fundraising results.
Enhances donor recognition through new and updated giving circles and clubs to engage and grow core donors.
Works with communication team on fundraising related to social media messaging, digital and print ads to promote giving and stewardship.
Collaborates with association staff colleagues to strategize, coordinate, and implement giving opportunities within association communications.
Collaborate with team to optimize landing and donation pages as well as recognition pages on the website.
Ensures accurate and timely record keeping, acknowledgment, action tracking, and stewardship through Raisers Edge.
Develops annual giving budget.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, required, or applicable experience.
CFRE or comparable certification, preferred.
3-5 years’ progressive fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting
Demonstrated success in fundraising, developing substantive donor relations, and supporting high-level volunteers in executing donor strategies.
Actively seeks new opportunities for annual fundraising.
Excellent project management skills. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Demonstrated experience using data and screenings in fundraising.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Raiser’s Edge or other nonprofit database experience; knowledge of prospecting tools and reports. Audience segmentation and data integration a plus

Demonstrated ability to master a variety of fundraising and tech platforms.
Travel Requirements Up to 10% - Local and National
