Position Summary: The Vice President, Communications and Meetings, is responsible for accomplishing the goals and mission of the organization through communications, marketing, meetings, and special events.
Specific Duties:
Dedication to accomplishing CADCA’s mission.
Supervise meetings, communications, and marketing staff, including selection and evaluation.
Work closely with CADCA leadership on issues regarding meetings, communications, and
marketing.
Develop and manage department budgets.
Direct all logistics for CADCA- and Institute-sponsored meetings and special events – pre-event and
on-site execution.
Develop, foster, and execute ideas for the growth of all CADCA-sponsored meetings and events in
terms of dollars, attendance numbers, and effectiveness.
Develop operational practices, timelines, and post-event and project critiques.
Negotiate contracts with hotels (working with IMN when applicable), partners, and other vendors
relating to CADCA and Institute meetings and special events.
Lead and support all CADCA staff in a collective effort to improve CADCA’s brand equity and
position in the marketplace.
Serve as editor and advisor on all CADCA external communications, support, coordinate and
review the Chairman and the CEO’s public presentations.
Serve as executive editor for Coalitions Online, Coalitions, and all CADCA publications.
Lead cross-departmental web content development teams for cadca.org.
Direct all marketing and promotion of CADCA projects, sponsored meetings, and special events.
Direct production and design of all CADCA printed materials and marketing collateral.
Direct evaluation and research of all CADCA-sponsored meetings and events – working in
conjunction with the Evaluation & Research department.
Act as team lead for developing content and programs for all CADCA-sponsored meetings
and special events.
Work cooperatively with Development on fundraising surrounding the Drug-Free Kids
Campaign Awards Dinner.
Direct partnership cultivation and relationship management for all CADCA-sponsored meetings
and special events, working closely with Development.
Coordinate CADCA staff participation as applicable for all CADCA-sponsored meetings and special
events.
Develop and cultivate relationships with key industry and federal partners.
Work cooperatively with CADCA Executive Team members to achieve the organization’s goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute events and special projects.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak effectively.
Proven experience in best practices for meetings and events including, but not limited
to, contract negotiation (hotels, convention centers, AV, general services contractors,
catering, and other vendors), exhibitor and sponsor solicitation, and management.
Training and Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree
Ten years of work experience in related fields.
