Position Overview:
In this position, you will be responsible for managing AES’ activities related to membership management and programs. The Membership Manager is primarily tasked with recruitment, retention, recognition, and engagement of members by providing a welcoming experience, developing innovative programs and benefits to meet the evolving needs of members, and by curating data needed to evaluate these activities.
Primary Duties:
Oversee and manage the AES membership and member-related programs.
Solicit new memberships and membership renewals via extensive outreach, including calls, e- mails, and in-person meetings.
Help to develop recruitment and renewal strategies (membership drives, confirmation email copy, marketing copy, etc.)
Working alongside Membership Concierge, respond to member inquiries in a timely manner.
Produce regular membership reports.
Coordinate and participate in Membership Committee meetings.
Coordinate and attend member-related events and meetings.
Manages new member onboarding and overall member engagement processes, including call for committee participation, recruitment, renewal/value communication, and tracking various data points.
Serves as site manager and administrator for association’s online community.
Provide copy, review, and provide edits for the membership-related marketing emails.
Manage and support professional and student sections including responding to section related questions, setting up in person meetings at annual events/conferences, updating and maintaining Section Operations Manual, collecting, and reviewing monthly section reports, developing efficient processes to disseminate information, monitoring section’s performance, and providing guidance as necessary.
Oversight of database management, processing and reporting for membership dues and event registration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
1-3 years of association experience
Ability to work well in a team environment is essential.
Ability to travel 2-3 times per year domestically.

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests/projects.

Creativity, curiosity, high energy level, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals.
Ability to establish and nurture relationships with other staff, volunteers, stakeholders, etc.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), general computing skills, and the Internet.
Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) is preferred or ability to quickly learn database functions.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
remain standing or sitting in a stationary position for many hours per day onsite
occasionally lift, move or carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
frequently move about inside a facility space.
