The creation of this new position, Director – Professional and Clinical Affairs, reflects the Endocrine Society’s role as the global leader in endocrine care, research, and advocacy. Our new director will report to the CMO and be a key member of the Professional and Clinical Affairs department. This person will be responsible for bringing clinical expertise to the Society’s staff and serving as a staff liaison to Society committees focused on clinical affairs and education. This person will also serve as a subject matter expert within the Society and with external audiences, including policymakers and the media.
The director will accelerate our ability to conceive, design, develop and implement programs to serve our membership, the field, patients, and the community at large.
What you’ll bring to the job:
Degree in a relevant health profession, e.g., RN/CDCES, PharmD, PA, NP.
Professional experience in the care of patients with endocrine disorders.
Maintain active professional licensure and appropriate continuing education required for such licensure.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
Fluent in English. Fluency in other languages desirable, but not required.
Demonstrates strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
This position is located in the Washington, DC metro area. All employees are required to work from our office 2 days per week.
Prior administrative or leadership positions.

Contributing to the development of strategic goals and objectives, develops programs, partnerships and other activities that advance the scientific and clinical direction of the organization.
Supporting new, major initiatives emanating from the strategic plan that advance the profession, support clinical and patient care. Preparing funding proposals to underwrite new initiatives.
Collaborating with the Chief Learning Officer, contributes to the development of our content strategy and priorities. Working with education-focused member groups to develop and disseminate innovative educational programs.
Working with the Chief Policy Officer to align and complement member and key stakeholder policy positions and strategies. Collaborating with policy-focused membership groups in support of Society policy priorities. Serving as a spokesperson on research and clinical affairs to the media and policymakers.
Representing the Endocrine Society to external partner groups and stakeholders as appropriate.
Serving as an internal subject matter expert (SME) to review and help frame society programs and respond to inquiries from external organizations.
Serving as an advisor and provides input to other departments in support the organization’s strategic plan.
Collaborating with other departments to obtain external funding sources, such as philanthropic foundations and other key partners.
