EWA is a 22-employee trade association representing hundreds of U.S.-based business enterprises, network operators, wireless sales and service providers, hardware and software system vendors, and technology manufacturers in the private land mobile (two-way) radio industry. The land mobile radio industry is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), under which EWA is certified to assist organizations requiring FCC authority – via radio spectrum licenses – to operate their mobile devices and radio networks. EWA helps its members secure the licenses, and it additionally provides advocacy, education, consulting, and various software services to assist members and their customers with sales lead acquisition, spectrum research, and license management.
The organizations represented by EWA range from small businesses to leading Fortune 500 companies, including those that use wireless communications, primarily two-way radios, in industries such as transportation, utility/energy, municipal, construction, petrochemical, manufacturing, retail, and others. While a non-profit, EWA competes aggressively as a business. With its 50% market share, EWA leads the industry because of... its employees, many of whom are 15+ year veterans. It is a small, familial, and business-casual workplace, headquartered in a gorgeous new office in Herndon Virginia. Nespresso and Keurig coffee, sodas, and weekly lunches are provided.
