The Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) has grown to be the only national and global trade association dedicated to providing year-round support to women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry. At present, more than 23,000 individual members representing more than 3,000 manufacturing companies have joined our growing ranks of industry professionals from 50 U.S. states and from 51 countries. WiM encompasses manufacturers of all types and welcomes individuals from every job function – from production to the C-Suite. Membership is available to women and men working within or with the manufacturing sector. WiM presently powers year-round virtual learning, bi-annual virtual career fairs, executive networking group services, a robust job board called WiMWorks, 20 meetings and conferences annually, 33 local U.S. chapters and three formal professional development programs. Position Summary:
The Director of Sales and Membership is a critical executive role responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive membership growth, retention, and revenue generation. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in sales, marketing, and partnership development within a trade association or similar organization. The director will lead efforts to enhance the value proposition for members, foster industry partnerships, and secure sponsorships that align with the association's mission and members' interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Membership Growth:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed membership acquisition and retention goals.
Collaborate with marketing to create compelling membership campaigns targeting diverse segments within the industry.
Establish metrics to measure and analyze membership trends and implement strategies for improvement.
Cultivate relationships with key industry players to promote the association and its benefits.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the association's strategic planning process, ensuring alignment of the sales and membership strategies with the overall organizational goals.
Monitor industry trends and member needs to recommend adjustments to services and benefits offered.
Work closely with the board and executive team to identify new market opportunities and potential areas for growth or partnership.
Industry Partnerships and Sponsorships:
Identify and secure strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders to enhance the association's profile and member benefits.
Design and manage a sponsorship program that aligns with the association's events, initiatives, and long-term strategic goals.
Maintain strong relationships with existing partners and sponsors, ensuring their satisfaction and ongoing engagement.
Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and membership team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Oversee the use of CRM and other sales tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy in sales and membership processes.
Manage the sales and membership budget, ensuring effective use of resources and maximization of revenue.
Member Engagement and Experience:
Ensure the delivery of exceptional member service, creating a member-centric culture within the team.
Develop and oversee programs and initiatives that enhance member engagement and participation.
Regularly engage with members to gather feedback and adjust strategies to meet their evolving needs.
Reporting:
This position is a part of the Women in Manufacturing Association executive leadership team and reports directly to the president.
Location:
This position is primarily remote, but the director will be required to travel to Cleveland for onboarding/training and on a quarterly basis for leadership team meetings.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior sales role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within a trade association or membership-driven organization.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies and achieving growth targets.
Strong understanding of membership dynamics and the ability to create value propositions that resonate with potential and current members.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
Solid experience in negotiating and managing partnerships and sponsorships.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
